CANDLE CREEK  
August 24/2024 Half Marathon

Important information for all participants

Welcome to Clearwater’s annual half marathon. We want you all to have a great walk/run experience taking place on Candle Creeks’ beautiful wooded trails, with great views, and some challenging spots along the way. Here is some important information you should know before you start.

STARTING AREA: The race begins at the Candle Creek Trails warming hut. There will be signage east of Clearwater on Highway 5 to help direct you to the starting area.

EARPHONES; be sure you can still hear other runners. Leave at least one earpiece out, and make sure that you are aware of your surroundings.

PETS AND STROLLERS; please no dogs, strollers or baby carriers in this competitive race. 

WASHROOMS; will be located in the main parking lot at the Candle Creek trails 

WATER STATIONS; there will be water stations on the 5km, 10km, 21km,  routes

SIGNAGE;  the  race courses will be very well marked with flagging tape and signs. You will need to pay attention where multiple distances pass through. Signs and marshals will ensure you go the correct direction. Please slow down and be sure you are going the correct way.

AWARDS; Start a 1pm. Prizes will be handed out for the top 3 men and women in each event. The kids’  race will hand prizes for the top 3 in the 1km kids’  race.

T-SHIRTS; will be available to purchase the night before at package pick up or on the day of race. Shirts are $20.00 each, long sleeves $35.00 each. Cash or E-transfer.

DOOR PRIZES; We have many great sponsors local and surrounding areas including merchants from Kamloops that have donated great door prizes. They will be handed out right after the awards.

RACE ROUTES; are located on our website as well as the elevation gain. Race routes may change pending on the condition of the trails.

RACE PACKAGE PICK-UP; You will be able to pick up your race packages on August 23/2024 at the Wells Gray Info Center between 2pm-6pm.. You may also pick up the day of the race at the Candle Creek Trails. PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY TO ALLOW ENOUGH TIME FOR PACHAGE PICK-UP.

BIB NUMBERS;  Please place bib numbers to be visible on the front.  This enables the marshals to confirm you have reached your posts along the way (Safety reasons) as well as at the finish line for the timers and the MC.

REGISTRATION; Deadline for registration is August 22, 2024.
